INCENTIVE: This will come as a complete shock, I'm sure, but Rip's incentive is to save the lives of his wife Miranda and their son Jonas. He tried. He tried so hard across time and space to save them himself, but admittedly didn't try cuddling to get there. He figures if it works, yay! If it doesn't, well. He's only out a little time.

FIT: Rip is in a better place by the end of the series than at the beginning to attempt to actually form meaningful relationships involving legitimate intimacy. He's accepted that his wife and son are lost to him and he's accepted that he's truly come to care about this crew he totally Shanghai'd. He'll probably be more than a little awkward about it and probably obnoxiously respectful, all things considered, but he's here to see what Eudio can deliver and he'll play by the rules accordingly. He's had some very recent experience with all-knowing and all-powerful organizations being less than forthcoming so he'll be more than a little suspicious, but he's curious. He's an explorer and an adventurer and he's hopeful to an absolute fault. He'd jump all over a chance to see what Eudio is all about.

CONSENT: Rip initially has a terrible concept of consent. He outright lies to the eight men and women he invites aboard his ship, about their places in history, about his motivations, about the mission as a whole, even condoning another crew member's obvious drugging of another in order to get him on board. The truth comes out soon enough, and he owns up to it, but still not the whole truth. He gets punched in the face a couple times for this.

Eventually he comes clean, and it's obvious he regrets his actions, and not just because everything clearly blew up in his face. He'd stooped to lows that he was not proud of, that his loved ones he sought to save would not be proud of, and he was truly sorry for it.

He wasn't always completely honest, going forward. Everyone has their secrets. But as far as what he knew that would directly affect his crew, his friends, he was open, even going so far as to try to prevent a death he had clearly foreseen in the Occulus.

But not one that he knew from history would come to pass.

He doesn't regret not telling Sara he knew about Laurel's fate. He doesn't regret saving her life, as he sees it. Doesn't regret doing his duty as a Time Master, even if no such thing really exists anymore, if it ever did.

In Eudio, Rip has no power, no ship, no crew, and every reason to do his damnedest not to piss anyone else off. He'll play by all the rules and let's be honest, no one will cuddle him and he'll get sent home all on his own, this is fine and take whatever reprimand comes his way if the Powers That Be decide that lies of omission are anathema to consent.

He doesn't want to remove anyone's free will. He's been down that road and it could have backfired so much worse. He's had his own free will completely removed. The Time Masters thwarted him every step of the way, used his every effort against him, allowed him to witness the deaths of his wife and son so many time over the course of time as he tried in vain to save them. He won't deny responsibility for his actions, any of them, he can own them, own his mistakes. But living with the knowledge that likely you've been nothing more than a puppet for the entirety of your not inconsiderable existence? He wouldn't wish that knowledge on anyone.

He's an advocate of free will, including his own. That just means he's not above pissing off his friends for the rest of their lives when he tries to do what he feels is right, after all.

In short, wow he's totally fucked this up in the past and he'd like to never fuck up that badly ever again. He will be obnoxiously considerate of the knowledge and consent of everyone involved in all aspects.
